Establihed in 1988, The European Air Law Association (EALA) aims to promote the study of European air law and to provide an open forum for those with an interest in the law and policy affecting the air transport sector in Europe.

EALA'S NEXT EVENT

Announcement:

The 2025 Annual Conference host city will be Vienna.

ABOUT EALA

The European Air Law Association (EALA) was founded in 1988 on the initiative of Professor P. D. Dagtoglou in recognition of the fact that, after many years, air transport policy had become accepted as an indispensable part of the EU integration process.

EALA’s inaugural conference was held in London in November 1989 and annual conferences have been held since then in European capital cities. Every other year (since 1997) the Munich Liability Seminar deals with liability issues and in 2006 the biennial Copenhagen Aircraft Finance Legal Seminar was established.

EALA is registered in England and Wales as a company limited by guarantee (no 6374877).

EVENTS

EALA provides a European forum for those with an interest in the development of air law. This is achieved mainly through regular conferences and seminars that address current issues affecting the entire spectrum of the air transport sector. These conferences and seminars provide an opportunity to learn about topical developments in air law and to discuss these developments with many experts that attend these events both as speakers and as delegates.

AWARDS

During the 20th Anniversary Conference in Prague (2008) the newly created annual EALA Prize was awarded for the first time. This Prize will be awarded annually.

In 2009, the EALA Lifetime Achievement Award was created. This award will be presented in recognition of outstanding contributions to European and International air law.

The inaugural award was presented in the Hague during the 21st Annual Conference.

DISCOUNTED REGISTRATION FEE FOR STUDENTS
A limited number of air law students will by special application to the Treasurer be able to participate in the Annual Conference for a reduced fee.

CPD CREDITS
EALA’s conferences are normally approved by the Solicitors Regulation Authority of England and Wales for the purposes of Continuing Professional Development credits.

US CLE CREDITS
Many US jurisdictions have an Approved Jurisdictions Policy in place under which US attorneys may count towards their respective CLE requirement credit earned through participation in out-of-state courses accredited by an approved jurisdiction.
