36TH ANNUAL CONFERENCE - BARCELONA

Location: Barcelona, Spain

Date: 7th - 8th November 2024

Booking Closed

EALA is delighted to invite you to attend its 36th Annual Conference, to be held in Barcelona. The Blériot XI, which is famously known for having accomplished the first crossing of the English Channel by air in 1909, was the first aircraft to be operated in Spain, departing from the very spot where Barcelona's present day, Josep Tarradellas - El Prat Airport is located. The El Prat Airport is now a genuine destination airport because this city has become a monumental place in Europe for historical, cultural and touristic reasons. In that context, El Prat Airport has significantly contributed to the development of aviation in Spain and has positioned itself as one of Europe's top airports.

As always, air transport is on the move, and with that, air law and policy. It keeps on attracting attention from many parties, including and foremost its users, but also national, European and global policymakers, legislators and courts, due to the fact that an increasing number of interests have to be accommodated. These include market opportunities which must be reconciled with the protection of safety and the environment, facilitation and logistics of operations. This year, special attention will be devoted to the 80th anniversary of the constitution of international civil aviation, laid down in the Chicago Convention of 1944
